BibleTelling - Life of Christ

The BibleTelling Life of Christ course has 36 stories that tell the life of Christ in chronological order — from the birth of John to the Ascension. The entire course is divided into twelve booklets and four answer keys.

• BibleTelling Life of Christ is a one-year Bible course that equips people with the ability to learn the stories of Jesus, increase their knowledge of the Bible, and be able to tell it to others!
• The pull-out TEST should be removed from the center of the booklet before a student starts working on it.
• Answer keys contain answers for all the activities in the booklet. They are designed to be used by students for checking their own work. There are a total of four keys – one for every three booklets.
• The pull-out TEST KEY should be removed from the center of the answer booklet before a student starts using it.

Search the Scripture

We think the first step in learning a Bible story is to read it in the Bible. This helps you to become familiar with how the story is presented in written form. The Search the Scripture activity guides you through the text and you can fill in blanks to answer questions as you read along. We have tried to make this activity friendly to various commonly used translations.

Crossword Puzzle

All the words and clues for these puzzles are taken from the written version of the story (found in the Bible) and from the telling version of the story (found in each booklet). This helps you review names and places involved in the story, as well as learn the definitions of key words.

Telling the story

This is the text of the telling version of the story as told by John Walsh on the audio CD.

Storyboard

The key to learning a large number of Bible stories is "Do not memorize words!" You should try to tell a Bible story like you tell what you had for breakfast. You see it in your mind and tell what you see. Storyboards are mental pictures, hand gestures, and drawings that make learning the story easy and fun.

Drawing the Storyboard

It is important to express the storyboard on paper as you learn it. It doesn't matter if you draw stick figures, write words, make an outline, or draw an elaborate picture. Putting the storyboard on paper helps cement it in your mind so you can easily remember the details of the story.

History and Customs

There is a considerable amount of "assumed knowledge" in Bible stories – "a Pharasee," "a well," "fishing boats," "Samaritians," "a wedding, " etc. This section gives you background information on things you need to know in order to have a better understanding of the story.

Discussion Questions

Answering the journaling questions gives you the opportunity to express in writing what the story teaches you, and how it impacts your life. These thoughts can then be shared in a group discussion.

Activities

It is important for the story to become a part of your innermost thoughts and emotions. This happens when you have the opportunity to communicate the story in your most enjoyable form of expression. A list of suggested activities is offered for each story. Some are group activities, while others are individual activities.

Quizzes

Every story has a 20-question quiz. Most people find this a fun way to test what they have learned, but the quizzes can also be used in an academic setting. It is amazing to see how much your Bible knowledge increases as you learn these stories!

Tests

Each booklet has a 50-question test covering the three stories in that unit. The TEST is found in the centerfold pull-out section of the book. It needs to be pulled out before working in the booklet.
